Evora, Ladwig to Skate in '11-'12 Season | Maddux Tampa Bay News Wire

Ellenton, FL ? May 2011 ? 2011 US Figure Skating Silver Medalists and World Team members Amanda Evora and Mark Ladwig, who train at the Ellenton Ice and Sports Complex, have announced they will skate in the upcoming 2011-2012 figure skating season. Evora (26 years old) and Ladwig (31 years old) had one of their most fruitful and successful seasons last year, finishing second at the US Figure Skating National Championships,? earning bronze at the Rostelecom Cup (their first medal in the Grand Prix series), and representing the US at the ISU Figure Skating World Championships. Evora and Ladwig also represented the United States in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, finishing 10th.

After taking a well deserved rest, Evora and Ladwig are looking forward to improving their world ranking and achieving a national title. They also said they are ?staying in? for the love of their sport, a desire to better themselves as competitors, and to ultimately reach their potential as athletes. Evora and Ladwig are looking forward to serving as ambassadors for figure skating and a positive force for the Ellenton Ice and Sports Complex and Southwest Florida Figure Skating Club.

Ellenton Ice and Sports Complex is a 115,000 square foot facility with two NHL size ice rinks, indoor soccer facility, ?paintless? paintball, fitness center, full service restaurant, pro shop, and much more. It is also host to world-class figure skaters and national champion hockey programs.
