The city of Leeds in England is one place full of music buffs. Most Leeds gigs are music concerts by local bands and international artists invited for music holidays or on tour. Almost every location has a resident band that does their own original music as well as doing renditions of famous international songs. The neighbors are extraordinarily keen on the music and fans typically go crazy during any of the many live performances taking place all over. The local bands are sufficiently good to provide back up for any big-name performing artist that happens to visit. There are also many locations for holding gigs, with one famous one being the O2 Academy.
The O2 Academy latterly hosted a fundraising event for Childline and Nordoff Robins charities. The event was in the shape of a music concert to be graced by 3 UK bands- Fury UK, Wolsfbane and Saxon. First on stage was Fury UK who opened the show with a blistering performance of their hit songs like ?I See Red?, ?Fall from Grace? and ?Manslaughter? among others. The reaction of the gang was a clear indication the band has a wonderful future. Wolfsbane was next up and the group went mad, with the lead performer Blaze cranking up the atmosphere with his stage escapades. Saxon also had a great reception with a performance that incorporated 3 songs from their new CD ?Call to Arms?. This concert had the real aura of what Leeds gigs are all about.
The Live At Leeds concert is a once a year event that has been running for five years now and is enjoying steady acceptance and success. The organizers worked hard behind the scenes to make the ?nine-venues-one-wristband? event a success. It has now get to be one of the top Leeds gigs to look forward to every year. Some of the performance of note included local band Blood Oranges who performed at the Brudenell Social Club, Lanterns on the Lake entertained at the Holy Trinity Church, and The Suzukis from Wigan were at the Leeds Met.
Earlier in the year the O2 Academy hosted one of the most eagerly anticipated events in Leeds in recent times. Musician Rob Zombie was in the town for a big performance, accompanied by the powerful Skindred band. Zombie gave a performance that concerned one of the most intricate stage sets ever assembled. True to their reputation, Skindred never failed to deliver. The spectators was in madness all thru in what will go down as one of the biggest Leeds gigs in years.
