Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie: Engaged!

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie may star in a new movie together, as talk in Hollywood centers around the parents teaming up for Ridley Scott's The Counselor.

But that's nothing compared to the following scoop: a new source claims this famous couple will also be starring together in life! Forever! Marriage style!

Brad ana Angie

A rep for Robert Procop - a Beverly Hills jeweler and former CEO of Asprey & Garrard - tells The Hollywood Reporter that his client has designed an engagement ring for Jolie "in collaboration" with Pitt.

The actress reportedly wore the ring on April 11 at a private viewing of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art's Chinese Galleries.

Talk of marriage and another pregnancy for Angelina have dominated the tabloids for months, of course. Last May, Pitt acknowledged that his children often ask about the subject and the couple will have to "look at" the possibility soon. Might that time have finally arrived?!?

If so, someone get Jennifer Aniston a drink. Stat!

UPDATE: It's been confirmed! Says Pitt's manager Cynthia Pett-Dante: "It is a promise for the future and their kids are very happy. There’s no date set at this time."

Alleged ASUS teaser wants us to 'Experience the Infinity,' fails to explain how
This isn't the first time a mysterious bit of video has come our way with the promise of something new and fabulous from ASUS. The latest such clip comes from a third party, so take it with a hefty pinch of Morton's. It shows some slow motion footage of a drop of water falling into a bigger body of H2O, then a message emerges from the resulting concentric waves telling us to "Experience the Infinity." Whatever that means, it'll be "coming soon" -- next week, apparently, as the video finishes up touting Milano Design Week, which starts on April 17th. Is the video legit? Will some fabulous new device make its mark in Milan? We've no idea, but it certainly has a style similar to other teasers we've seen from the Taiwanese firm. You can make up your own mind once you've watched the vid after the break.

Little physical activity is beneficial for obese people during long ...

Prolonged sittings can be problematic especially for obese people and active breaks help them. Regular two minutes break of walking or any other light activity are good for health. Activities with regular intervals along with high calorie meal keep glucose and insulin levels under control, according to new research in diabetes care. Increase in blood sugar or glucose levels is associated with poor health, artery stiffening and cardiovascular disease. Active breaks keep these glucose levels under control.

Larger and frequent spikes are bad and damage the walls of arteries and veins, according to Associate Professor David Dunstan, of the Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It also increases the risk of heart disease.

Physical activity for long sittings

Imbalance in hormone levels also increases the risk of heart disease. Hormone replacement therapy is used to balance hormone levels in both men and women. Research shows that long time sittings are dangerous for health. It also causes many chronic diseases including cancers.

A case study:

In the study, the researchers included 19 participants whose ages were ranged 45 to 65. All of those were overweight or obese. Three experiments were carried out on each participant and each experiment was carried out after a six day break.

  • The participants were asked to sit for 5 hours in the first experiment. The idea was to create conditions similar to that of office workers who sit at their desks for long periods.
  • In the second experiment, the length of time was same but they were asked to walk after every 20 minutes interval on a treadmill at a light-intensity pace for 2 minutes.
  • In the third experiment, all the things were same except the walk that was of moderate intensity.

To measure the blood glucose levels, all the participants were given a standard drink containing 75g of glucose and 50g of fat. After that, there insulin and glucose levels were checked.

Case study for physical activity

Conclusion of the study:

According to the Dunstan, the individuals who did some regular activity with particular breaks showed 30% improvement as compared to those who did not take any break.

There was not much difference in the benefits of high and moderate intensity activity. Light intensity activities also showed great improvements.

More good results are achieved due to balance in hormone levels. Testosterone and HGH are among the main hormones that play a great role in maintaining body functions. Low levels of these hormones cause many problems in the body. Testosterone replacement therapy is used to treat low T levels.

This study showed that breaks during sittings improve health. While sitting, muscles sleep and during movement, they wake up. Body movement maintains the body?s metabolic system.

It is also suggested that office workers who sit for hours and look at screens should take break after every thirty minutes to relax their eyes. These findings are not limited to obese people; in fact, breaking up during sitting time is beneficial for all who sits for longer time.

Tips for Breaking Up Sitting Time:

Fukushima birds may cope with radiation

JAPAN'S birds can breathe a little easier: the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident might not have a lasting impact on breeding patterns.

A 2011 study of birds near Chernobyl in Ukraine found that their sperm is being damaged by harmful reactive oxygen species, which may have been created by radiation from the country's nuclear disaster in 1986. But according to calculations by Jim Smith at the University of Portsmouth, UK, the radiation at Chernobyl couldn't have produced enough reactive oxygen species to explain the observed harm (Biology Letters, DOI: 10.1098/rsbl.2012.0150). The same is true for Fukushima, he says.

The biggest effects at Chernobyl are seen in barn swallows, which rely on farming activities for their food. Smith thinks the evacuation of the area may instead explain the swallows' plight.

That doesn't convince Anders M?ller at the University of Paris-South, France, an author on the 2011 study. He points to studies that suggest declines in farming affect barn swallows but don't stop them reproducing.

A final answer may come next year from the French Institute for Radiological Protection and Nuclear Safety, which has launched its own study of birds in the Fukushima contamination zone.

But the birds aren't home free: radiation harms wildlife in other ways, such as damaging DNA.

US sues Apple, publishers over ebook prices

(AP) ? The Justice Department and several states have sued Apple Inc. and major book publishers, alleging a conspiracy to raise the price of electronic books that Attorney General Eric Holder says cost consumers millions of dollars.

The government also has reached a settlement with three publishers, Hachette, HarperCollins and Simon & Shuster. But it will proceed with its lawsuit in federal court in New York City against Apple and Holtzbrinck Publishers, doing business as Macmillan, and The Penguin Publishing Co. Ltd., doing business as Penguin Group.

Holder told Justice Department news conference on Wednesday that "we believe that consumers paid millions of dollars more for some of the most popular titles" as a result of the alleged conspiracy. Justice's antitrust chief Sharon Pozen said the scheme added $2 to $3 to the prices of individual books.

Connecticut Attorney General George Jepsen said the total cost to consumers was more than $100 million.
